Bracket Products on Locally Compact Abelian Groups
We define a new function-valued inner product on L2(G), called ?-bracket product, where G is a locally compact abelian group and ? is a topological isomorphism on G. We investigate the notion of ?-orthogonality, Bessel's Inequality and ?-orthonormal bases with respect to this inner product on L2(G).
متن کاملSome Computations of Non - Abelian Tensor Products of Groups
A generalised tensor product G 0 H of groups G, H has been introduced by R. Brown and J.-L. Loday in [3,4]. It arises in applications in homotopy theory of a generalised Van Kampen theorem. The reason why G 0 H does not necessarily reduce to GUh Oz Huh, the usual tensor product over Z of the abelianisations, is that it is assumed that G acts on H (on the left) and H acts on G (on the left), and...
متن کاملThe Dunford-pettis Property on Tensor Products
We show that, in some cases, the projective and the injective tensor products of two Banach spaces do not have the Dunford-Pettis property (DPP). As a consequence, we obtain that (c0⊗̂πc0)∗∗ fails the DPP. Since (c0⊗̂πc0)∗ does enjoy it, this provides a new space with the DPP whose dual fails to have it. We also prove that, if E and F are L1-spaces, then E⊗̂ǫF has the DPP if and only if both E and...
متن کاملGroups Acting on Tensor Products
Groups preserving a distributive product are encountered often in algebra. Examples include automorphism groups of associative and nonassociative rings, classical groups, and automorphism groups of p-groups. While the great variety of such products precludes any realistic hope of describing the general structure of the groups that preserve them, it is reasonable to expect that insight may be ga...
متن کاملControl/target Inversion Property on Abelian Groups
We show that the quantum Fourier transform on finite fields used to solve query problems is a special case of the usual quantum Fourier transform on finite abelian groups. We show that the control/target inversion property holds in general. We apply this to get a sharp query complexity separation between classical and quantum algorithms for a hidden homomorphism problem on finite abelian groups.
